I was diligently searching for the right doe to add to my herd; once I saw Snowy's dam's udder I was convinced. Her dam's udder has one of the highest rear attachments I've seen on a Nigerian. Plus it is tightly attached all the way around and she has great capacity for only being a first freshener. Snowy herself is a very dairy doe with nice length, width, and a very nice rump. She has great rear angulation, wonderfully spaced ribs, thin dairy skin, and nice feet and legs. She also has great depth of body. She does toe out a hair in the front, but it's barely noticeable. She could also use higher withers and more levelness from chine to loin. I'm expecting wonderful things from Snowy!
Overall, I'm pretty pleased with Snowy's udder. I love how long her teats are and she has great capacity! She was milking pretty close to a half a gallon a day at peak production as a first freshener! Ideally, I would like to see her teats more centered, wider side attachments, a higher rear udder, and a more extended foreudder. It will be interesting to see how her udder changes with the next couple freshenings. Snowy will definitely be a great foundation to work with.
